I never fell out of love with the classic flap - I just fell out of love with the price! But sadly because they became so unaffordable it became the trend on You Tube to trash talk them and I think that’s unfair! It’s still a beautiful bag and I would have a ton of them in all colours if the price wasn’t so crazy! I’ll keep a look out for you… 😉😘

If you buy from the boutique you receive a 5 year warranty if nothing is wrong with your bag for five years, I’m thinking the quality is fine!

Bought it again in 2021 for almost double the price...Still have it, never carried it once. This year bought the medium Retrofit (Kelly) in black (the caviar is gorgeous) and the executive neo tote (small) in black, smooth caviar....I am a black caviar girl, too..... Glad I found your channel. ❤
Get whatever color you love! Leather Surgeons and Leather Pros can match the color - I’ve used them both and the color match was perfection. Even on purple metallic!

Medium size is my favorite but I might also add a jumbo in my collection down the road. My collection is full of classic bags and I don’t end up regretting my purchases, I just know they stand the test of time!
I just purchased my medium cf w/ gold hw this year when visiting Ireland. The price was less expensive than in the states and I got VAT back lowering the total cost to just over 9k. It was the only way I could afford one. It’s my favorite bag!
Maybe I'm not allowed to say this anymore, but I will anyway: the CF is one of my favorite bags ever, especially the small size in Caviar or as a 2.55. I like it just the way it is, with the short shoulder strap and the double flap. I'll probably never buy another one, but I'm happy with the ones I have. By the way, I don't go to Chanel anymore because I'm worried about buying a new CF 🙃🙈
Of all luxury bags, I love the classic flap in medium the most. Since you have the jumbo in black, is there a neutral color you likat that can easily be matched with an extened strap? That mini green is stunning, by the way. I think that leather really looks gorgeous in lighter shades, like baby blue or pink. Less like plastic. Have you ever purchased a tweed Chanel? I just love them. I think you would love the classic flap in medium!
I aspired to owing a classic flap as a child. As an adult I detested it, especially in gold. I referred to it as the Granny bag. However, I fell in love with the Reissue in Black with ruthenium and finally bought one in 2019. I have not used her since 2021 but I’ll never sell her.
I still love these bags, though I find them annoying to use until I extend the chain. I would add a chevron in a fab colour and get the chain extended , haven’t ruled that out. I would prefer to add chevron I think.
I think that your plan is solid. I have a black mini flap bag which I adore, I don't think that I would carry a medium/small CF as much as my mini, so I am good with my little jewel.
I love caviar and would not get any classic flap other than a mini in lamb skin. Saying that I own mostly lamb skin because of the colours and availability but these are used with caution. Also caviar leather is actually the cheapest leather they can use because to make it the caviar leather they emboss it with a plastic coating so for cost value lamb skin leather will be better quality. I own a patent leather Chanel bag and it’s the most durable bag, I know people don’t like patent but I’ve had so much wear out of it and it’s still brand new. Xx

Yeah i still love my classic flap Chanel in small beige claire with gold hardware. I jumped when my SA told me that there is a shipment coming for that that year (which is 2 years ago) and now seeing the prices, i can't imagine getting one again in the store. I still love all their classic and their Mini (yes in Caviar only which is also my preference) thus i do not have many choices too. I got the Wallet on chain in black this year in Caviar and am so happy about it. Yeah not many talking about the classic Chanel anymore as it used to be. I will still buy if i see one that i really love or if i can hunt that down in pre-loved and in pristine condition, that would even be better. Yes certainly the prices are the major factor for this lesser unboxing.
They did a nice grey caviar in the 20C collection and a light beluga grey in the 22C collection i think you should look at. I personally think you would absolutely rock the darker grey in the 20C collection.

Well the Birkin is not either but everyone is trying hard to look sophisticated. I do own both of them ( Chanel and Hermes) and I always prefer the Chanel over and over again
How about a Chanel reissue 226? great prices 2nd hand, about the same size as a CF but you can get loads more in and the strap/beautiful chain allows crossbody. Honestly they are great underappreciated bags.
Deb, I would get in touch with leather surgeons and ask them which colors they can’t match. Why pigeon hole yourself to just a couple of colors when it may not have to be. I know Amelia’s color was kind of special I think it was a coral color she had or is that the one she still has to do. And I think she did her black bag. I’m having a hard time remembering right now. The Dior goes nicely cross body. Re Chanel - the jumbo has a very long chain so it sits nicely doubled up - too long for cross cosy or shoulder bag. The mini is great length for cross body. The Med/large and the small cf are both short shoulder bag chain length.
Overpriced. Poor Quality. A Classic brand that’s Stagnant unfortunately. Uninspired design across the entire product range in my opinion. Yawn. They are crying out (and luckily are about to appoint) a new Creative Director. We desperately need Hedi Slimane or Galliano to come and shake shit up 😂
